Pastor Emmanuel Abar
Getting to Know Pastor Emmanuel Abar
Pastor Emmanuel Abar is an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a rich background in pastoral ministry, theological education, and chaplaincy. Originally from Nigeria, Pastor Abar sensed God's call to ministry at the age of twenty-three. While preparing to enroll in a Pentecostal Bible school, he became deeply convicted by the biblical truths of the Three Angels' Messages and was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church. That same year, he entered Adventist ministry, beginning a lifelong commitment to preaching, teaching, and pastoral care. Getting to Know Pastor Emmanuel Abar
Pastor Emmanuel Abar is an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a rich background in pastoral ministry, theological education, and chaplaincy. Originally from Nigeria, Pastor Abar sensed God's call to ministry at the age of twenty-three. Pastor Abar has served faithfully as a pastor in Nigeria and later in the United States. His ministry in the U.S. has included service as an adjunct faculty member at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University, pastoral ministry within the Allegheny East Conference, and most recently as pastor of the Houston United African Seventh-day Adventist Church under the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Academically, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Theology, a Master of Divinity. and a PhD in Religion (Church History). all from Andrews University. He is also a professionally trained clinical chaplain and currently serves as a volunteer chaplain at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Pastor Abar is happily married to Oluwabukola Abar, a community developer, his best friend, and partner in ministry for over twenty-three years. Together, they are blessed with two children, Angel and Michael. As a family, the Abars have dedicated their lives to the service of God and His people, and look forward to walking with their new congregation in faith, mission, and spiritual growth.
